Lakeview Junior High School
701 Plainfield Rd.

“This free event is a good way for kids and their parents to come out and have some fun while learning valuable information about topics like bicycle and fire safety,” said Durkin. “I hope families will come out and enjoy the “Touch-a-Truck” exhibit and take the opportunity to meet some of the local law enforcement officers and first responders that keep our communities safe.”

Admission is free. There will also be free giveaways at the event. Demonstrations at this year’s expo include: Brookfield Zoo Ambassador Animals (9:00 AM), DLD Dance Center (9:30 AM), Traveling World of Reptiles Show (10:00 AM), and Success NOW Martial Arts (11:30 AM), Metra Police K-9 (11:45 AM). Additionally, a medical helicopter will land at the school at 10:00 AM.

“Touch-a-Trucks” will be at the Safety Expo as well and kids are invited to see, touch, and get behind the wheel of their favorite squad car, fire truck, snow plow and more. Local professionals will be available to answer questions about the equipment and the work they do.

“We have an excellent roster of organizations that will be in attendance and available to provide useful resources and safety information for families, as well as fun and interactive activities for the kids,” said Curran. “Parents and their kids really look forward to the Children’s Expo, so I’m excited to be a host again this year.”
