(Downers Grove, IL) – Illinois State Senator John Curran (R-Downers Grove) announced more than $2 million in Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grants for communities in the 41st District.

“I’m excited to announce these grants that will help our local parks and villages develop more outdoor spaces and opportunities for families in our communities to enjoy,” said Curran. “These are long-term investments that will bring great rewards for the residents of our district for many years to come.”

Grants for the 41st District include:

  • Lisle Park District – $600,000
  • Village of Orland Park – $600,000
  • Village of Willowbrook – $600,000
  • Westmont Park District – $228,300

Established by the Illinois General Assembly in 1986, OSLAD is a cost-sharing program between state and local governments that helps communities fund land acquisition and development for parks and outdoor recreation projects.  For the current year, cities, villages, park districts, and forest preserve districts had an opportunity to apply for the grants over the last several months.
