Senate Minority Leader John Curran and State Representative John Egofske are encouraging family-friendly fun including demonstrations from the Brookfield Zoo Ambassador Animals, “Touch-a-Truck,” face painting, giveaways and more at this year’s FREE Children’s Health & Safety Expo on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at:
Lakeview Junior High School
701 Plainfield Rd.
Downers Grove, IL
“Everything we do is to help make life better for families in Illinois,” said Curran. “The Expo is a great way to spend some time with each other and our local law enforcement and other community leaders.”
The event is free to the public with ongoing demonstrations including: Brookfield Zoo Ambassador Animals (9:00 a.m.), Illinois State Police K-9 (9:30 a.m.), Traveling World of Reptiles Show (10:00 a.m.), and DLD Dance Center (11:30 a.m.). Drawings for giveaways will begin at 12:00 p.m.
The Expo will also feature the popular ‘Touch-a-Truck’ demonstration that allows children to see, touch, and get behind the wheel of their favorite squad car, fire truck, snowplow and a real-life LIFESTAR medical helicopter. Local professionals will be available to answer questions about the equipment and the work they do.
“This is a great opportunity for families, friends, and neighbors to get together, celebrate the beginning of summer, and share a fun experience exploring all that the community has to offer,” said Egofske. “I encourage everyone to stop by, say hello, and enjoy the festivities!”
