Senate Ethics Committee holds first meeting of 2021

The Senate Ethics Committee held its first meeting of the 102nd General Assembly on Tuesday, and discussed a comprehensive ethics reform bill filed as Senate Amendment #1 to Senate Bill 04. Following the meeting, State Senator John Curran, who serves as the Minority Spokesperson on the Ethics Committee, issued the following statement:

“The Senate Ethics Committee met this morning for the first time this current General Assembly.  We met to discuss Senate Bill 4, which is a collaboration of some ideas that emerged from the Joint Taskforce of Ethics Reform that I served on during the last General Assembly.  While the proposal discussed today is a good start, there is much more we can and must do to restore the Public’s Trust in the State Legislature.”
