State Senator John F. Curran is thrilled to spotlight a talented local athlete, Scott Daly of Downers Grove, who has been signed to play football for the Dallas Cowboys.
Currently in his senior year of graduate school and a member of the Fighting Irish at the University of Notre Dame, Daly will leave the computer and don the famous Cowboys white and blue uniform as their new long snapper.
Following his graduation from Downers South High School, he began playing football for Notre Dame in 2012, however, the team didn’t take full advantage of his talents until his sophomore season. Since the start of the 2013 season, he has played every game for the Fighting Irish as their long snapper.
Daly has over 15 years of football league experience under his belt and was named the best high school long snapper in the country by Scout.com in 2011. Additionally, NBC news went on the record to say Daly has a “bright NFL future,” so his recent recruitment does not come as a shock to those who have known Daly or seen him on the field.
“I’m so proud one of our own from Downers Grove is going to represent us in the NFL,” said Curran. “Scott has the athletic talent and drive to be a phenomenal professional football player—and he is equally accomplished in academics. Like so many of us in Downers Grove, I look forward to seeing him on our TV screens.”
Senator Curran congratulates Scott for this tremendous accomplishment and wishes him the best of luck in his NFL career.
